What is Canoeing?
Deep within Minakami lies the heart of the Kantou Plain water basin, Namato and Okutone Lakes. These lakes are the result of several large dams built throughout the Minakami area, which make the river serene and still, perfect for a canoe tour! Until Early July, left over snow makes for breathtaking scenery, and in autumn Japanese Salmon and Char return to lay their eggs.
Canoe tours give you the opportunity to slowly explore beautiful mountain lakes and take in the natural environment! Tours run from late April to mid November!!

Forest & Water offers a variety of tours that vary in length and difficulty. Forest & Water also offers discounted Accommodation Packs, which combine a tour with an overnight stay. We invite you to customize your trip further by joining us at a special after-tour BBQ! Depending on your preferences we can design a tour especially suited to your needs.
